ALUMNI ARE THE FOUNDATION AND PILLARS OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS. At Ransom Everglades, our alumni are not only vital to our School but in addition, to our community. RE Alumni are leaders in Miami and all over the nation. They are professionals who are well educated and understand the importance of giving to their communities. The goal of the Office of Alumni is to keep more than 100 years of graduates connected to each other and the school by offering events for them to see one another and faculty, provide an online directory
for professional networking in Miami and other cities in the world, recognizing RE Alumni and their contributions in Athletics as well as Community Service and facilitating mentor programs for current students.
The goal of Ransom Everglades School, Office of Alumni Relations and Alumni Board is to connect alumni to the school. To achieve this goal, there are many ways that we try to facilitate this relationship. The first plan of action is to bring classmates and alumni together. There are a few events during the year that Alumni may choose from to attend and can be assured they will see many familiar faces and faculty friends.
The Class Reunion celebrations are all scheduled to happen on Alumni Spring Reunion weekend, the third weekend in April each year. Grouping reunions together on this weekend dedicated to Alumni offers all alumni an opportunity to come to campus with their friends and family to reconnect and see their school-today. It also gives the Office of Alumni Relations an opportunity to host events for everyone such as Career Panel, sit in on a class at the Upper School, Spring Gathering Cocktail Party and Sports Day BBQ.
In addition, the class reunion planning is organized entirely by the Office of Alumni Relations. Invitations, dinner arrangements, flowers and logistics are taken care of so classmates can concentrate on locating one another and encouraging attendance. There is a set price for each reunion dinner which includes an open bar of $85 per person. Any additional reunion ideas like gifts, decorations and music are welcome and the Office of Alumni Relations is happy to help.
Collegiate BBQ
Many recent graduates take time from their college breaks and come back to the Upper School campus to say hello to faculty. The school wants to create an event just for them so they may see faculty and other alumni from their Upper School years. At the same time, The Anderson Alumni Regatta and Alumni Soccer game are being moved from December to this same date due to an increased demand by collegiate sailors. It is a perfect trio of events and all will be happening on the waterfront on Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. Check the website for details in September and be sure to update your email addresses on the alumni online website.
The Everglades and Ransom Everglades Coffee and Junior Class Ring Ceremony
The Junior class ring ceremony is a perfect opportunity to invite women from Everglades and Ransom Everglades to the Everglades Middle School campus. We have a large number of alumnae living locally in the Miami area and want to have an event each year where the women of this school can meet one another and form relationships, professionally and friendly. Lisa Shaw '77 will be working on the event with the Office of Alumni Relations, please contact either one if you would like to help organize.
Most importantly, please take a moment to update your information on the alumni online website so we may contact you with details.
