    Ransom Everglades teams earn first and third places at South Florida geography bowl

    Teams from Ransom Everglades captured first and third places in the 2024 High School Geography Bowl for Independent Schools of South Florida. Jacob Aronow '26, Charlie Reizenstein '26, Oscar Vazquez '26, Jaz Puri '28 and Benny Fishman '26 came from behind to win a close final match for the championship, and Parker Jelke '27, Jack Gonzalez '28, Iker Fierro Garcia '28, Gabrielle Tchira '27 and Jack Akselrad '28 earned the third-place trophy. RE's academic teams competed against 15 other teams at the event at the Coral Gables Woman's Club and were supported by coaches Abby Berler and Branly Fontaine

    The RE Jazz Singers headline an exciting Jazz and Guitar Concert

    Ransom Everglades debuted its newest ensemble – the RE Jazz Singers – with an exciting opening performance at RE’s Jazz and Guitar Concert. Thirteen junior and senior vocalists highlighted the Nov. 19 event at the Posner Lecture Hall, performing five foot-tapping pieces including “Route 66” and “I Gotta Get.” The RE Combo, the Blue Note Combo and RE’s guitar classes also performed, sharing their musical progress from the fall semester.

  • Sebastian van de Kreeke '25 and Michiel

    Raider sailor earns fourth place in sailing national championship

    Sebastian van de Kreeke '25 finished fourth at the 2024-25 Interscholastic Sailing Association Cressy Singlehanded National Championship Nov. 16-17 in St. Petersburg, Florida. The only RE student to qualify for the prestigious event, van de Kreeke faced 11 sailors from seven regional districts across the nation. He earned a victory in the final of 14 races to clinch his fourth place overall. At the event, he was coached by his father, RE Hall of Fame sailor Michiel "Monkey" van de Kreeke '88.

    Swimmers knock down RE records during state meet

    RE swimmers broke three school records at one of the most successful state championship meets in school history. Kiera Rampersad '25 set the record in the 100-meter butterfly with her second-place finish in 54.76 seconds, breaking a 10-year-old RE mark. Nohan Gomez '25 broke a five-year-old record in the boys' 100 fly, finishing in 50.94 on his way to eighth place overall. And the team of Lincoln Broad '26, Jay Holly '26, Ethan Sullivan '25 and Gomez posted a time of 1 minute, 28.80 seconds in the 200 freestyle relay on their way to 15th place, breaking a school mark set in 2016. The athletes competed at the Nov. 15 Class 1A Florida High School Athletic Association state meet under RE coach Franz Huggins, also head coach of the RE Aquatic Club.

    Thespians from RE excel in district competition

    Nine upper school drama students earned top scores of excellent or superior at the District 8 Thespian Competition Nov. 16 at the Miami Airport Convention Center. The thespians will look to continue their success under performing arts teacher Laura Montes at the Florida Thespians Senior State Festival March 19-22, 2025, in Tampa.
