Ransom Everglades teams earn first and third places at South Florida geography bowl
Teams from Ransom Everglades captured first and third places in the 2024 High School Geography Bowl for Independent Schools of South Florida. Jacob Aronow '26, Charlie Reizenstein '26, Oscar Vazquez '26, Jaz Puri '28 and Benny Fishman '26 came from behind to win a close final match for the championship, and Parker Jelke '27, Jack Gonzalez '28, Iker Fierro Garcia '28, Gabrielle Tchira '27 and Jack Akselrad '28 earned the third-place trophy. RE's academic teams competed against 15 other teams at the Nov. 19 event at the Coral Gables Woman's Club and were supported by coaches Abby Berler and Branly Fontaine.
Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
