Raiders begin district play with victory over Miami Springs

Junior Rauli Matos '26 led the way with three catches for a career high 126 yards including a 69 yard touchdown completion as the Raiders rolled in their district opener 42-8 over Miami Springs. Freshman quarterback Neimann Lawrence '28 continued his dominant season with three touchdowns through the air and one on the ground. Lawrence would finish the game 12/17 for 270 yards passing. Behind strong offensive line play from seniors Rudy Pages '25, Mack Srebnick '25, Harrison Lamnin '25, Chase White '25 and junior Jackson Crowley the Raider rushing attack of Noah Alce '28, Jack McCarron '26 and Spencer Geller '27 combined for 120 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. Defensively, the Raiders continued putting pressure on the quarterback behind strong play from sophomores Coley Hucks '27, Edwin Carr '27  and freshman Quinnard Mays '28. Senior Mason Lastra '25 added an interception to his collection nearly bringing one back for a touchdown. The Raiders will get back to the practice field today as they prepare for a Thursday afternoon game vs University School at Robert E. Walker Field. Kick off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
