Strings students earn top marks at MPA

Two RE musicians – one from the Middle School and one from the Upper School – earned the highest possible rating, "superior with distinction," and six others earned "superiors" at the Florida Orchestra Association Music Performance Assessment Feb. 11 at G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School.
Sixteen RE musicians were among more than 550 students from 18 schools in Miami-Dade County at the MPA, and all earned at least an "excellent" rating. Laura Liu '19 and Ian Barnett '23 won the superior with distinction ratings. A superior rating is considered the highest score, but if a student memorizes a piece and receives such a ranking, he or she earns superior with distinction.

The students train under faculty member Jessica Li.
