RE welcomes new Director of Athletics and Physical Education

Ransom Everglades is pleased to welcome Corey Goff as the school’s new Director of Athletics and Physical Education. Goff comes to Ransom Everglades from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa., where he spent the last 15 years overseeing all facets of the athletic department, most recently as Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation. In that role, he led 22 NCAA Division III sports teams and managed a staff of 75.
His experience assisting student-athletes in intercollegiate, club, intramural and curricular sports will help him enhance all of RE’s athletic and physical education programs. Goff, who earned his BA in Biology and Secondary Education at Susquehanna (Pa.) University and MS in Educational Psychology from the University of Albany, also served as an adjunct professor in the psychology department at Muhlenberg, as well as head baseball coach, head and assistant football coach, and strength and conditioning coach.

“It is thrilling to add an accomplished, respected and enthusiastic administrator, teacher and coach to the helm of Ransom Everglades’ athletics and PE department,” Head of School Penny Townsend said. “I can’t wait to see what Corey Goff will accomplish on our campuses.”

Goff previously taught and coached football and baseball at two independent schools: the Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, Pa., and The Westminster Schools in Atlanta. He also served as a coach at Dartmouth College, the University of Albany and Susquehanna University.

“I am excited to bring my passion for physical education and athletics to Ransom Everglades,” Goff said. “I can’t wait to begin working alongside RE’s exceptional staff to ensure students reap the full health and academic benefits of a well-designed physical education curriculum. I also look forward to helping Ransom Everglades develop its extra-curricular programs to provide competitive opportunities for all students.”

At Ransom Everglades, Goff will be responsible for the recruiting, hiring and training of all coaches, athletics staff and physical education teachers; athletic competition scheduling, yearly budgeting, and the management of the athletic facilities. Additionally, Goff will foster relationships with the Florida High School Athletic Association and its member schools.
Andy De Angulo, who served for two years as Interim Athletic Director, will continue to coach and teach swimming at Ransom Everglades.

Goff’s wife, Lauren Kelly Goff, is the Executive Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Grants for Olympus Corporation of the Americas, a global medical device company that has an office in Miami. The couple has two boys, Collin, 12, and Michael, 10.
