  • John A. King Jr. and speaker David Faber listen to questions from students

    Award-winning financial journalist advises on ethics in business and journalism

    Financial reporter and bestselling author David Faber addressed upper school students on the topic of ethics in business and journalism as part of the Holzman Center of Applied Ethics Speaker Series on April 7. Holzman Center Director John A. King Jr. interviewed Faber from the Lewis Family Auditorium stage before turning the questions over to students. Faber's visit to RE took place at the height of tariff anxiety and market volatility, providing fodder for pointed questions and follow ups.

  • Drama students outdo themselves with Hadestown: Teen Edition

    From the performers' range and polish, to the creative and perfectly timed choreography, to the true-to-Broadway staging, sound, costumes and set, RE's exceedingly talented upper school drama and orchestra students outdid themselves with Hadestown: Teen Edition. Performing in two casts from April 8-11 at the Lewis Auditorium, the students drew nearly full houses all four nights and inspired ovations in proportion to the quality of the production. The leads on Wednesday and Friday were Armando Segrera ’25, Isabella Sayfie Ranawat ’26, Jaerla Sajous ’25, Gustavo Do Valle ’26, Julia Jaci ’27, Sofie Delic ’28, Morgan Williams ’26 and Miranda Silva ’26.

    On Tuesday and Thursday the leads were: Austin Sayfie Aagaard ’26, Erela Yashiv ’26, Victoria Pasos ’28, Alejandro Andrade ’25, Elena Castrillon ’26, Lilah Murphy ’27, Sasha Zack ’25 and Halo Tucker ’27.

  • Fourth Annual Social Psychology Symposium, Posner Lecture Hall

    Students explore current events through the lens of social psychology

    Students in Ransom Everglades' AP Psychology classes presented their research posters on how current events can be interpreted using social psychology theories and phenomena during the 2025 Social Psychology Symposium in the Posner Lecture Hall on April 3. Thirteen groups of students under RE faculty member Jenny Carson '03 explained their findings on topics ranging from the impact of Saturday Night Live to the unlikely hero status achieved by Luigi Mangione. Fellow students, teachers and parents attended the event during the mid-day break.

    Upper schoolers sweep top awards at Poetry Night at the Barnacle

    RE student-poets swept the top three awards presented at the second annual Poetry Night at The Barnacle on April 9: Miguel Kumar '25 earned first place; Alexa Charouhis '27, second; and Patrick Keedy Brown '26, scored third place as Sofie Delic '28 and Arhan Shah '27 earned finalist recognition (top 15). All read their poems aloud on the lawn of The Barnacle Historic State Park with 10 other finalists from five South Florida Schools. Nearly 600 poems were submitted in recognition of National Poetry Month.

    RE Climate Symposium

    Ransom Everglades students in grades 6-12 will present projects focused on solutions to fight climate change. The evening will include an environmental sustainability eco-fair and a climate-friendly community dinner open to all. The symposium will take place in the Fernandez STEM Center, the Lewis Family Auditorium, and on the Touzet Quad and Mendelson Plaza.

    Parking on campus is limited. Attendees are encouraged to carpool, rideshare, bike, or walk to campus.

    REady: A REASON Career Exploration Event

    Presented by the RE Alumni-Students Organized Network (REASON), this evening event connects current students with alumni leaders across a variety of fields. Students will begin with lightning talks from each presenter, then dive deeper through two breakout room rotations designed to explore real-world skills and career challenges. This is the first in a series of events aimed at bringing alumni expertise to student aspirations. Join us on Tuesday, April 29 from 5:30–7:10 p.m. for an inspiring and practical look into the paths that lead from RE to real-world impact.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
