Six Raiders scored individual titles at the track and field district meet
Six Raiders – including two eighth graders – won individual track and field district titles at the Florida High School Athletic Association 2A District 15 championships. Gillian Carvalho '29 finished first in the 400 meters in 56.19 seconds, Ella Griffin '29 won the 3,200 in 12 minutes, 13.16 seconds, Harrison Lamnin '25 claimed the discus title with a throw of 34.21 meters, Nelson Manstein '26 finished first in the 800 in 1:58.55, Latrice Nelson '25 claimed the 800 title in 1:58.55) and Lucas Schleifer '26 won the pole vault with a jump of 2.85 meters.
Many Raiders posted top-three finishes at the championship meet at Palmer Trinity under coaches Mike Becker, Maeve Carei and O.J. Armstrong. Carvalho also earned second place in the 200 meters in 25.09 seconds; Nelson finished second and Aly Nabaka '29, third, in the high jump, both achieving a mark of 1.42 meters, and Nelson added a second place in the triple jump (10.10 meters) and third place in the long jump (4.92 meters); Celia Rundlet '27 finished second in the pole vault with a jump of 1.95; Savannah Davis '31 notched second place in the discus (26.20 meters), third in the shot put (9.25) and third in the javelin (29.15); Julianne Gallagher '26 finished second in the javelin (30.64); Quinnard Mays '28 finished third in the high jump (1.62); and Ron Donaldson '25 scored third place in the triple jump (11.84).
Ten schools competed in the boys' and girls' divisions, and both RE squads finished third in the their division. The girls' finished third in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays and the boys finished third in the 4x800.
