Raiders advance to SFBC final

Freshman Jorge Gross '28 led the way with a pair of hits including a homerun to right field and a double as the Raiders rolled to a 12-2 victory over Somerset Silver Palms in the South Florida Baseball Conference semifinal. Sophomore Tyler Grossfield '27 got the Raiders off to a great start in the first inning driving in a run on a single down the line. Senior Justin Kaplan '25, and juniors Enrique Macias '26 and Juan Velazco '26 each collected two hits in the victory. Junior Jacob Rubinstein '26 earned the win for the Raiders allowing  four hits and two runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking one. Senior Noah Martin '25 threw one inning of zero-run ball for the Raiders in relief. The Raider will get back to the practice field today as they gear up for the conference title game on Friday night against Marathon. That game will be played at Miami Country Day at 7:00 p.m.

 

Ransom Everglades Varsity Raiders collected nine hits in the game. Gross led Ransom Everglades Varsity Raiders with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The left fielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Justin Kaplan, Enrique Macias, Velazco, and Gross each collected two hits for Ransom Everglades Varsity Raiders. Ransom Everglades Varsity Raiders had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Rubinstein, Teddy Wagner, and Nicolas Motoki led the team with two free passes each. Grossfeld stole two bases.
