Five RE students compete in international geography bee in Vienna

Upper school academic team captain Jacob Aronow '26 and academic team members Charlie Reizenstein ’26, Evan Powe ’29, Emma Hall ’30 and Rohan Harihara ’30 were among more than 300 of the world’s top geography students who competed this summer at the International Geography Championships July 14-20 in Vienna, Austria.
Aronow had a particularly strong showing, taking first place in human geography, second in the bowl/team category, third in visual arts, and fifth in the individual and overall competitions, among other awards. Harihara advanced to the semifinals in the bee and came in seventh in the bowl/team category. 

The competition featured 30 separate categories and offered numerous field trips, including visits to the Austrian Congress and OPEC’s headquarters.
