Pathways Scholars

Pathways Scholars: Service, Leadership and Research

RE’s Pathways Scholars signature program offers students an opportunity to invest in their passions, develop their character and intellectual flexibility, and explore their purpose beyond the requirements for graduation. Within a chosen area of inquiry, RE Pathways Scholars deepen their knowledge with focused and advanced coursework, experiences, and original research, and apply their knowledge by demonstrating leadership and making positive contributions through service to the community. Engaging in interdisciplinary learning experiences fosters a holistic understanding of complex topics and cultivates adaptability, creativity, and critical thinking skills essential for success in diverse and ever-changing academic, professional and societal contexts.

Students are eligible to apply to join a Pathway during the course-request process in the spring of their sophomore year. To do so, they complete a short application, outlining their motivation and interest in the program. Each Pathway cohort is capped at 15 students, ensuring that faculty advisors can provide the individualized mentorship necessary for success. The RE Pathways below inspire and challenge students to think deeply about a wide range of problems and ideas that are relevant to the world today and to make meaningful contributions that improve the richness and wellbeing of their communities.
