Alumni gather in New York City and Miami

Ransom Everglades alumni and friends had a variety of opportunities to connect socially and professionally in Miami and New York City in January. Alumni volunteers spearheaded a real estate speaker event, a finance and entrepreneurship group gathering and a law reception – in addition to the inaugural Alumni Family Picnic on campus. The alumni office traveled to New York City for its annual sojourn, hosting alumni and friends at the Yale Club and getting together with collegiate alumni in the Village and on the Upper West Side.
New York City Alumni & Friends Reception
Dozens of RE alumni from the Classes of 1960-2022 gathered in New York City to reconnect, reminisce and hear from Ransom Everglades leadership including Head of School Rachel Rodriguez and Chief Operating Officer David Clark '86. Alumni Board Co-Presidents Rachel Greer Narvaez '99 and Phil Cassel '03 welcomed their peers and Rodriguez, Clark and trustee Ricky Stokes '94 shared highlights of life at RE. Trustees Vanessa Chartouni-de la Serna '90 and Bill Bermont '93 also participated, helping to greet the more than 60 attendees. The event was held at the Yale Club, following a decades-old tradition started by the late Harry Anderson '38, and Luke Dann '90 graciously hosted the event.

Alumni and Friends Real Estate Speaker Series
More than 75 alumni, parents and students learned more about Miami's current real estate climate at the Alumni Real Estate Speakers Series on January 23. Moderator, Albert E. Dotson Jr., Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Bilzen Sumberg led an engaging conversation with Edgardo Defortuna, President, CEO and Founder of Fortune International Group. Dotson and Defortuna, both RE trustees, shared their valuable insights into the real estate industry in South Florida.

Allan Serviansky ’99 and Javier Henriquez ’10, Chairs of the REconnect Alumni Real Estate Group, organized the event.

Alumni Finance & Entrepreneurship Group Launch
The Alumni Finance & Entrepreneurship Group launch was a great success, bringing together alumni from various classes for collaboration and shared insights. COO David Clark ’86 delivered an inspiring message that sparked discussions on mentorship and internship opportunities for students and young alumni.

This group was made possible by co-chairs Karim Aryeh ’98, Todd Gross ’01, Sergio Mendoza ’96, and Jonathan Mirabito ’97, with RE Board of Trustees Chair Miguel Duenas ’95 and trustee Jorge Gross ’97 also in attendance, highlighting the strength of the school's alumni network.

Alumni Family Picnic hosted by D.R.E.A.M. (Dynamic Ransom Everglades Alumni Minis)
The inaugural D.R.E.A.M. Alumni Family Picnic, co-chaired by Jacques Holzmann ’07 and Alexandra de Soto ’07, was a huge success! More than 35 alumni families gathered for a day filled with delicious food, fun games, and incredible entertainment by the talented Mr. J Jams.
